Beauty Roundup: The Best Organic, Vegan Beauty Brands
One of the things that I’ve learned on my clean, organic, vegan journey is that the cosmetic and skincare industry has a dark side. Who knew that they use ingredients that cause cancer? This is from the top of the line skincare/makeup all the way down to drugstore finds. Another mind blowing discovery! So, I had to find the best organic, vegan beauty brands for me to use.

The cosmetic industry polices themselves
Can you believe that the cosmetic industry hasn’t changed or updated their regulations since 1938? Seriously, that’s the last time they voted. Crazy, huh?! So basically, what this means, is that the makeup/skincare industry regulates and polices themselves. Well that’s not a conflict of interest, is it?! What does that mean for the consumers? It means that these companies have THEIR best interest at heart, not ours. They can put harmful ingredients (which are cheaper to produce) in our products, and it’s not really a big deal, because no one’s really monitoring them. According to Food Babe, “That’s because cosmetics are not regulated as strictly as food products. Companies can get away with using these risky ingredients because they have been used for years and there is not enough pressure for them to change their ways.”
Your skin is your largest organ
This is a problem because your skin is your largest organ and absorbs EVERYTHING you put on it. So, if you’re lathering toxic chemicals on your face and body (which are in mainstream skincare and beauty products, both cheap and expensive), they can wreak havoc on your insides and can cause issues like cancer, reproductive issues and eczema, just to name a few. I don’t know about you, but that kind of defeats the purpose of using them in the first place.

Roundup: My favorite organic, vegan beauty brands
I was so upset when I found out all this information. I really liked going to the mall and having the salesperson help me pick out all the necessities that I needed, and now I can’t do that. I had to figure it all out myself…which was a royal pain. So, I’ve rounded up the brands that I use and trust. Don’t feel like you have to go and throw out everything you have right now. You’ve used it this long. When something runs out, make a better choice.

Note…not all of these brands have products that are 100% organic, but they are transparent, use ethically sourced, organic and/or non-gmo products. So here we go:
